Based on his 1948 short story, William’s last major work was The Night of the Iguana, which received a New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award. Revived for the West End, this intriguing play is coming to the Noel Coward theatre for a strictly limited run! Directed by James Macdonald, the star-studded cast includes Clive Owens (Closer, Children of Men) alongside Lia Williams (Kiri, Mary Stuart) and Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad).

This captivating drama is set in a neglected hotel in the West Mexican rainforest during the turbulent limbo of 1940. Here, a group of lost souls collide, including the grieving widow who runs the hotel, the disgraced priest turned tourist guide, a family of Nazis, a 97-year-old poet and his artistic granddaughter. Chaos ensues as these individuals clash, heightened by a relentless rain-storm and the uncertain backdrop of the unfolding Second World War. This tropical tale promises to create a powerful performance to remember.
