VE Day 75th Anniversary Celebrations in London by Coach

Come and celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day on 8th May 2020, a day which marked the end of World War II in Europe.

We join in with the celebrations in London and enjoy VE Day 75 at the Royal Albert Hall. On this May Bank Holiday, host Katherine Jenkins will be joined on stage by the Royal Philharmonic Concert OrchestraMilitary Wives Choirs, Second World veterans and special guests. The inspiring and patriotic evening will also include a very special performance by Katherine.

Presented by veterans’ charity SSAFA, the performance honours those who made the ultimate sacrifice while celebrating the victory for Britain and its allies. With stirring and emotional music from some of the greatest British composers, including Elgar’s Nimrod, Walton’s Spitfire Prelude & Fugue, Holst’s Planet Suite and Goodwin’s Battle of Britain Theme, this commemorative concert is the perfect way to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

We also enjoy free time in central London, commemorating this important day and sharing this moment of celebration.

Itinerary

Thursday: From a morning pickup in your local area we travel by coach to our hotel, arriving in time for dinner.

Friday: Today we head into central London to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day, where there are special events being held across the city. Follow in the footsteps of the revellers in 1945 and walk down The Mall to Buckingham Palace, soak up the jubilant atmosphere, and raise a glass as part of The Nation’s Toast to the Heroes of World War II at 3pm, the time Winston Churchill announced that the war was over. Later we enjoy a two-course dinner at a local restaurant before heading to the Royal Albert Hall in time for the VE Day 75 concert. After a wonderful evening of celebration the coach takes us back to our hotel.

Saturday: After breakfast, we head back into London for some free time to shop or see the sights. From a trip on the London Eye, to a spot of shopping on Oxford Street or a stroll through Hyde Park – there is plenty to do. We set off for home in the mid-afternoon.
